Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad Base

  • 1 can tuna drained
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-ins

  • chopped celery optional for crunch
  • chopped pickles optional for tang
  • fresh herbs optional, such as parsley or dill

Instructions
 

  • Drain the tuna thoroughly and place it in a mixing bowl.
  • Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice to the bowl.
  • Mix well with a fork until all ingredients are combined and the tuna is flaked but not mushy.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Optional: Fold in chopped celery, pickles, or herbs for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve immediately on lettuce, crackers, or bread. Optionally chill for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise. You can also make it vegan by using mashed chickpeas and vegan mayo. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
