Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 egg Binding agent for the meatballs.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Enhances flavor with freshness.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced Adds a refreshing zing.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Fresh garlic for flavor.

For the Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup plain yogurt Can substitute with coconut yogurt for dairy-free.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For added flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the kitchen counter and preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Mix the Turkey Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped parsley, chopped oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended without overmixing.

Form Meatballs

  • Scoop out equal portions of the mixture and roll them into balls of about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.

Bake the Meatballs

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Yogurt Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix the plain yogurt, minced garlic, and salt until fully blended.

Check for Doneness

  • Remove the meatballs from the oven and check for doneness. If not cooked properly, return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Serve

  • Transfer meatballs to a serving platter and serve hot, drizzled with the yogurt sauce or on the side for dipping.

Store Leftovers

  • Let leftovers cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
