Ingredients
  

Meat Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 strips bacon, diced

Vegetable Ingredients

  • ½ medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Dairy and Eggs

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Condiments and Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For Garnish (Optional)

  • Chopped green onions
  • Diced tomatoes

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Gather all the ingredients.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, place the diced bacon over medium heat and cook until crispy, about 5-8 minutes.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the grease in the skillet.
  • Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion turns translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Stir the crispy bacon into the beef mixture and let it cool slightly.

Assembly

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • In a greased 8x8-inch baking dish, spread the beef and bacon mixture evenly across the bottom, then layer 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the meat and cheese, allowing it to sink in a bit.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions and diced tomatoes.

Notes

This casserole is customizable, feel free to add in spices or vegetables based on your preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
