Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and equipment, including dicing the onions and bell peppers, mincing the garlic, and spraying the baking dish with non-stick spray. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Sauté the Vegetables

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and bell peppers and sauté for about 5-6 minutes until they soften and become fragrant.

Add Garlic

  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 30 seconds, stirring to prevent burning.

Brown the Beef

  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 7-8 minutes until browned.
  • Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Add Worcestershire Sauce

  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Incorporate Cream Cheese

  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the softened cream cheese until melted and creamy.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Transfer the creamy beef mixture to the sprayed 9x13 baking dish and spread it evenly.

Layer the Cheeses

  • Tear the provolone cheese and layer it over the beef mixture. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake the Casserole

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 22-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

Let It Rest

  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
