Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients: 2 cups of shredded coconut, 1 cup of chopped nuts, 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, chopped nuts, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is combined.
  • Roll small amounts of the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate the balls for about 1 hour to firm them up.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.

Dipping and Setting

  • Remove the chilled coconut balls from the refrigerator and dip each one into the melted chocolate using a fork.
  • Place the dipped balls back on the baking sheet and refrigerate again for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.

Serving

  • Once set, serve the Martha Washington Candy on a platter or in small cups.

Notes

Store in an airtight container lined with wax paper for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
