Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For marinating the chicken
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For seasoning

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Base for the tzatziki sauce
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced Adds freshness to the tzatziki
  • ½ cup feta cheese, crumbled For added flavor in the tzatziki
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds acidity to the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dill For flavor in the tzatziki

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry. Dice the cucumber and prepare your vegetables for serving.

Cooking the Chicken

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  • In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a marinade. Coat the chicken breasts evenly with the marinade.
  • Once the grill is hot, add the marinated chicken breasts. Grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Making the Tzatziki Sauce

  • In another bowl, combine the diced cucumber, Greek yogurt, feta cheese, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed and adjusted to your taste.

Assembling the Gyros

  • Once the chicken has finished cooking, transfer it to a cutting board and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it into strips.
  • If desired, warm the pita bread by lightly toasting or grilling it.
  • To assemble, place sliced chicken onto the pita bread, spoon tzatziki sauce over the chicken, and add fresh vegetables.
