Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure your unsalted butter is soft.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your mini cake pans.

Mixing the Batter

  • Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.

Baking the Cakes

  • Divide the batter equally into the prepared mini cake pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Let the cakes cool in their pans for about 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
