  • Place the beef chuck roast in the center of your slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Cut the unsalted butter into chunks and place on top of the roast.
  • Arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the roast.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low; cook for 8 hours.
  • Check for doneness; the roast should be fork-tender.
  • Remove the roast and shred it using two forks.
  • Return the shredded meat to the delicious juices in the cooker.
  • Mix the shredded meat with the gravy for flavor.
