Preparation

  • Start by gathering all ingredients listed and slice the bread if it’s not pre-sliced.

Assembly

  • Layer the ham and cheese between two slices of bread.

Batter Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well mixed.

Cooking Process

  • Put a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Let it melt and become bubbly.
  • Carefully dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring all sides are coated.
  • Cook the coated sandwich in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip it and repeat.
  • The cheese should be bubbling and the bread crispy after about 6-8 minutes total cooking time.

Serving

  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
