  • 2 large eggs Beaten.
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Oil as needed for frying Vegetable or canola oil works well.

Preparation

  • Start by cutting the mozzarella sticks in half to help them cook evenly.
  • Gather all your ingredients, ensuring they are easily accessible for seamless preparation.

Breading

  • Create a breading assembly line: Place the flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning in a third.
  • Coat each mozzarella stick in flour first, shake off excess, dip into beaten egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure good coating.

Frying

  • In a medium pan, heat about an inch of oil over medium heat. Test temperature with a breadcrumb; it should sizzle.
  • Carefully add breaded mozzarella sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove sticks from oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve mozzarella sticks immediately while hot, with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara or ranch.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. For freezing, place breaded sticks on a baking sheet until firm, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
