  • 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix Plus ingredients from the package like eggs, oil, and water.
  • 1 cup White Frosting Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 pack Candy Eyes For decoration.
  • to taste Cocoa Powder Optional for dusting.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools: muffin tin, cupcake liners, and a mixing bowl.
  • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.

Baking

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix with the required ingredients as per the box directions. Mix until smooth.
  • Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  • Bake according to the cake mix box instructions, generally around 15-20 minutes.
  • Once baked, remove the tin from the oven and let it cool. Then transfer cupcakes to a wire rack.

Frosting and Decoration

  • While cooling, prepare the white frosting in a piping bag.
  • Pipe the frosting over the cooled cupcakes in a zig-zag pattern.
  • Press the candy eyes onto the tops of the cupcakes.
  • Lightly dust with cocoa powder for an extra spooky touch, if desired.
