Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 1 cup almond flour Ensure it's gluten-free if necessary.
  • ½ cup butter, melted Use unsalted butter.
  • ¼ cup sugar

For the Filling

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole almonds For topping, can be toasted for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling Can substitute with other fruit fillings.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients, ensuring the cream cheese is softened.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until slightly crumbly.
  • Press the almond mixture into the bottom of a greased 8x8 inch pan to form the base.

Making the Filling

  • In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the almond base and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle whole almonds on top of the cream cheese layer.
  • Layer cherry pie filling over the almonds and spread gently.

Chilling and Serving

  • Cover the pan with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  • Once set, slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For freezing, wrap tightly and store for up to three months. Garnish with extra almonds or fresh cherries for presentation.
