Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients: crushed cookies, finely chopped nuts, cocoa powder, and confectioners' sugar.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookies, chopped nuts, cocoa powder, and confectioners' sugar. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add the dark rum and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and stir well until everything is combined and feels moist.
  • Shape the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  • Roll each ball in additional confectioners' sugar until fully coated.
  • Place the rum balls on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate them for at least two hours.
  • Serve once chilled, and enjoy. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

To enhance the flavor, toast nuts before chopping. You can experiment with other coatings like shredded coconut or chocolate.
