  • ½ cup chia seeds Packed with omega-3 fatty acids.
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Substitute with agave nectar for vegan option.
  • ¼ cup olive oil Coconut oil can be used for a different flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start your baking journey by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure oats, chia seeds, and liquids are measured accurately.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). A warm oven is necessary for even baking and rising.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, chia seeds, and salt. Stir to evenly distribute the salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix water, honey or maple syrup, and olive oil. Whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients bowl. Mix until fully combined; the batter will be slightly thick.
  • Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes to let the chia seeds absorb the liquid and swell.
  • Grease a loaf pan, pour the mixture in, and spread it evenly to promote even baking.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before slicing.
