Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 14 oz kielbasa sausage sliced into ½ inch pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz penne pasta or other short pasta
  • ¾ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add kielbasa slices and sauté for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
  • Stir in garlic and onion, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  • Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing to a gentle boil.
  • Add uncooked penne pasta, making sure it’s submerged in the liquid. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Once pasta is al dente, stir in Parmesan cheese, paprika, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let rest for 2 minutes, then serve hot garnished with fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes.

Notes

Customize this dish by adding vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers. For a lighter version, substitute turkey sausage and half-and-half for cream. Leftovers keep well for 3–4 days in the fridge or up to 2 months in the freezer.
