Ingredients
  

Base

  • 2 cups milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup sugar adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips or milk/white chocolate

Flavor Additions

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange zest fresh
  • 2 tbsp orange juice freshly squeezed

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, cocoa powder, and sugar. Whisk until smooth, about 3–5 minutes.
  • Stir in dark chocolate chips and whisk until fully melted and glossy.
  • Add vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice. Stir to combine.
  • Heat gently for 2–3 minutes, ensuring it doesn’t boil. Remove from heat.
  • Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream, and garnish with chocolate shavings or an orange peel twist. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use almond, oat, or coconut milk for a dairy-free version. Sweetness can be adjusted with honey, maple syrup, or sugar alternatives. Try adding a pinch of cinnamon or cayenne pepper for a spiced variation.
