  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Béchamel Sauce Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

Lasagna Components

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan for topping
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional) For garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering and measuring all your ingredients. Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and crumble the cooked bacon.

Cooking the Base

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  • Once the beef is cooked, add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until soft, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic for another minute.

Making the Sauce

  • Add the crumbled bacon, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper to the meat mixture. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • In a separate saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the whole milk, cooking until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

Assembling and Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a 9x13” baking dish, layer the meat mixture, noodles, béchamel sauce, and cheeses repeatedly, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.

Serving Preparation

  • Let the lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
