  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Can be replaced with lime juice for a twist.
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Cut each passion fruit in half and scoop out the pulp into a medium-sized saucepan.
  • Separate the seeds from the pulp to achieve a smooth texture.

Cooking

  • Add the sugar, eggs, butter, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt into the saucepan with the passion fruit pulp. Whisk the mixture until well combined.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly.
  • Continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Finishing Touches

  • Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean bowl.
  • Let it cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer into a clean jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
