Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients.
  • If using active dry yeast, dissolve it in warm milk with a pinch of sugar and let bloom for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg, softened butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Combine both mixtures, adding the yeast mixture if bloomed, and knead the dough.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • Roll dough to 1/3 inch thickness and cut out doughnuts.
  • Let the cut donuts rest for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

Baking

  • Bake donuts for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Filling and Glazing

  • While donuts bake, mix the filling ingredients until smooth.
  • Once cooled, fill donuts with the cheesecake mixture.
  • Prepare glaze and dip tops of filled donuts.
  • Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and drizzle with melted peanut butter if desired.
