Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Baking Dish (9x13-inch)
  • Aluminum foil
  • Basting Brush

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef 85% lean preferred
  • 1 large yellow onion finely diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian or dinner rolls
  • 6–8 slices provolone cheese or Swiss cheese

Butter Topping

  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp oil for sautéing

Optional Toppings

  • sliced jalapeños, mushrooms, or pickled peppers optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Dice onions and peppers, mince garlic, and prepare slider buns.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers, sautéing for 5–7 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
  • Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, then add ground beef. Brown for 5–8 minutes, breaking apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined and remove from heat.
  • Place bottom halves of slider buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spoon beef mixture evenly over buns and layer provolone cheese slices on top.
  • Place the top buns over the cheese to complete the sliders.
  • Combine melted butter and garlic powder in a bowl. Brush over the tops of the buns.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes, slice along bun lines, and serve warm. Optionally, add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra flavor.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10–15 minutes to keep them crispy. Try variations with cheddar or Swiss cheese, or add sautéed mushrooms for a rich twist.
