  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup Can substitute with homemade sauce.
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup Or use other cream soups.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Vegetable broth can be used for a vegetarian option.
  • ½ cup milk Can use a dairy-free alternative.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Consider using mozzarella or a cheese blend.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Gather all your ingredients and tools: large mixing bowl, measuring cups, and a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Make sure your cooked chicken is shredded and ready to go.

Mixing and Baking

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked chicken, uncooked rice, both cans of soup, chicken broth, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Stir everything together until well combined and creamy.
  • Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it evenly and cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Once done, let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Serving

  • Using a spatula, dish out generous servings onto plates and enjoy!
