  • 1 cup powdered sugar Can substitute with homemade powdered sugar.
  • ½ cup finely ground pistachios For best texture, ensure they are finely ground.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Optional, adjust for desired consistency.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients and ensure the butter is softened.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and light, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until velvety smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, starting on low speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increase to medium speed until combined.
  • Stir in the finely ground pistachios until evenly distributed.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract until fully integrated.
  • If the frosting is too thick, gradually add milk, a tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition until desired consistency is reached.
  • Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Best for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for up to three months. Let it return to room temperature before use.
