  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 large egg, beaten For brushing
  • Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Flour for dusting

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Substitute for mozzarella.
  • Cooked sausage or ham Alternatives to pepperoni.
  • 1 flax egg or aquafaba Vegan substitute for egg.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • On a floured surface, gently roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut the rolled-out pastry into tree shapes.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Assembly

  • Place half of the tree cutouts on the prepared baking sheet and spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce on top.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and arrange pepperoni on top.
  • Cover with the remaining tree cutouts and seal the edges by pressing down with your fingers or using a fork.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

These pizza bites are great for family gatherings, holiday parties, and game nights. Store in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to a month.
