Ingredients
  

Soup Base

  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken
  • cups milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 can (10½ oz) condensed cream of chicken soup

Dumplings

  • 1 cup Bisquick™ baking mix
  • cup milk (for dumplings)
  • paprika (optional) for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine 1½ cups milk, frozen peas and carrots, chicken, and condensed cream of chicken soup. Heat to boiling over high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce to a simmer.
  • In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup Bisquick™ baking mix with ⅓ cup milk until a soft dough forms.
  • Gently drop the dumpling dough by spoonfuls onto the simmering chicken mixture. Do not submerge the dumplings in liquid; they should sit on top.
  • Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Cover and cook 8–12 minutes longer, or until dumplings are cooked through and fluffy.
  • Sprinkle with paprika if desired and serve hot.

Notes

This quick stovetop version uses Bisquick™ mix for easy, ready-to-drop dumplings, making it a weeknight-friendly comfort meal. Leftovers store in the fridge up to 3 days.
