Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger properly for the best flavor.

Cooking

  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and brown sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  • In another bowl, mix the cornstarch with the 1/4 cup of water until it becomes a smooth slurry.
  • Pour the cornstarch slurry into the soy sauce mixture gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
  • Transfer the combined mixture into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  • Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the sesame oil.
