Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour heat-treated or safe flour for eating raw
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar light or dark
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • If using raw all-purpose flour, heat-treat it by spreading on a baking sheet and baking at 350 °F (≈175 °C) for about 5 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and salt to the butter-sugar mixture.
  • Gradually add the cooled, heat-treated flour and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  • Scoop or roll the dough into approximately 1-inch bite-sized balls and chill in the refrigerator until firm.

Notes

These bites are safe to eat raw if the flour is properly treated. You can optionally dip them in melted chocolate, sprinkle sea salt, or freeze for a firmer texture.
