  • 1 lb salmon belly cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp calamansi juice or lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Optional Garnishes

  • green onions chopped
  • sesame seeds toasted

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, and minced garlic. Add salmon belly pieces and marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Remove salmon from marinade and pat dry.
  • Place salmon belly pieces skin-side down in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes until skin is crispy.
  • Flip the pieces and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through.
  • Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For an air fryer version, preheat to 400°F (200°C) and cook salmon belly pieces for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through. For a grilled version, cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side.
