  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips Can substitute for dark chocolate.
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter Can substitute for sun butter to accommodate nut allergies.
  • ¼ cup butter Use dairy-free butter for a vegan version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup toasted coconut Use sweetened toasted coconut for best flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and have them measured and ready.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and butter.
  • Microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
  • In a large bowl, pour Rice Chex cereal and drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over it.
  • Gently stir to coat the cereal evenly.
  • Pour powdered sugar into a large zip-top bag.
  • Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into the bag and seal it, shaking to coat.
  • Add toasted coconut to the bag and shake gently to combine.
  • Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool.
  • Once cooled, transfer Samoas Puppy Chow to an airtight container for storage.
