Preparation

  • Prep your workspace and ingredients by ensuring a clean and organized area.
  • Using a sharp knife, thinly slice your sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the beef stock, reduced sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Whisk until combined.
  • Place the sliced beef in the crock pot and pour the sauce mixture over it, ensuring all the slices are evenly coated.
  • Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, set aside the frozen broccoli florets to add them later.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth, then add it to the crock pot in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Add the frozen broccoli florets to the crock pot 30 minutes before the cooking time is up and stir it in.
  • Once the cooking time is complete, check that the beef is tender and serve over white rice.
  • Enjoy your dish!

Notes

For better flavor, marinate the beef in the sauce overnight and consider adding seasonal vegetables or spices to suit your taste.
