  • 8 oz mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can be substituted with avocado oil.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Shallots or leeks can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Consider fresh thyme as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary Fresh rosemary can be used for a fresher taste.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • to garnish Fresh parsley Adds color and freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth.
  • If large, slice the mushrooms into even sizes for uniform cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat for about a minute.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the cleaned mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
  • Sprinkle in the dried thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the mushrooms.
  • Continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes to meld flavors.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm them in a skillet over medium heat. Can be frozen in portioned bags for up to a month.
