  • 1 lb ground turkey Lean protein option
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil For cooking
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Can substitute with Tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced Adds aromatic flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Brings depth of flavor
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Can use any green vegetable
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice Base of the bowl
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds For garnish

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Measure the sesame oil, soy sauce, minced ginger, and garlic, and chop the broccoli into florets.

Cooking

  • Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the soy sauce and broccoli florets. Cook for another 5 minutes until the broccoli is tender yet slightly crunchy.
  • Serve the turkey and broccoli mixture over the prepared brown rice.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Enjoy your bowl immediately while it’s warm!

Notes

Allow leftovers to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It can also be frozen for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
