Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, grated
  • ¼ cup green onions, chopped

Dressings and Seasonings

  • ¼ cup sesame seeds, toasted
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients in advance.
  • Wash the green and red cabbages. Shred the cabbages into thin strips.
  • Peel and grate the carrots into fine shreds.
  • Chop the green onions into small pieces.
  • Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, combine the green cabbage, red cabbage, grated carrots, chopped green onions, and toasted sesame seeds.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and salt.
  • Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture and toss until well-coated.

Serving

  • Let the slaw rest for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Great as a side dish or topping for tacos. Customize with your favorite ingredients like apples or nuts. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
