  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced

Seasoning and Dressing

  • 1 teaspoon dried mint (or more to taste)
  • 1 fresh lime, juice Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Preparation

  • Start by washing all your fresh vegetables thoroughly. Dice the cucumber, onion, and tomatoes into small, uniform pieces.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced cucumber, onion, and tomatoes. Mix gently to avoid mashing the tomatoes.
  • Sprinkle in the dried mint, and squeeze the fresh lime juice over the vegetable mix.
  • Add salt and pepper according to your preference.
  • Toss all the ingredients lightly to combine.
  • Let the Shirazi Salad sit in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes.
  • Before serving, taste the salad to check if it needs more salt, pepper, or lime juice. Adjust to your liking.
  • Serve the Shirazi Salad chilled in a beautiful bowl or on a platter.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Fresh vegetables are key for optimal taste and texture.
