  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes Keep them warm while preparing the gravy.

  • Melt the butter in a medium-sized pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-5 minutes until they are soft and fragrant.
  • Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, stirring to avoid lumps forming.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it thicken over 5-7 minutes.
  • Once thickened, stir in the shredded chicken until well-coated in gravy.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Prepare your mashed potatoes while gravy is thickening.
  • Spoon the chicken gravy generously over the mashed potatoes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with herbs if desired.

Notes
