  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey For a leaner option
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients, wash the potatoes and veggies thoroughly, and dice them into small pieces.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add diced potatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  • Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté for another 5 minutes.
  • Push the veggie mix to one side, add ground beef (or turkey), and cook for 5-7 minutes until fully browned.
  • Mix everything together, pour in tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, cover the skillet, and let it melt.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
  • Serve straight from the pan or dish onto plates.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months.
