  • 4 pieces chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) Can substitute with chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Vegetable broth can be used for a lighter flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Other oils such as avocado oil or melted butter can be substituted.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools such as a slow cooker, measuring cups, and a mixing bowl.
  • Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine chicken broth, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Cooking

  • Lay the chicken breasts flat in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Pour the seasoning blend over the chicken breasts and ensure all the chicken is coated evenly.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once cooking time is up, check that the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
  • Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the leftover juices.

Serving

  • Serve the Slow Cooker Chicken Breast as is, or use it in your favorite recipes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
