Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup sriracha sauce Adjust for spice tolerance
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions for garnish For serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all necessary ingredients. Trim and remove any bones or excess fat from the chicken thighs.

Cooking

  • In a bowl, mix honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to create the flavor base.
  • Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker, spreading them out evenly.
  • Pour the mixed sauce evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  • Check if the chicken is tender and shreds easily. If so, it's ready.
  • Using two forks, shred the chicken in the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh green onions.

Notes

For better flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight in the sauce. You may add vegetables halfway through cooking for added nutrition.
