Preparation

  • Slice the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Layer the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
  • Add the seasoned beef on top of the onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
  • Pour the beef broth and barbecue sauce over the roast.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for about 8 hours.
  • After cooking, remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  • Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
  • Toast the sandwich rolls if desired.
  • Assemble the sandwiches with shredded beef and your favorite toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
