  • 4-5 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Ensure bananas are ripe for best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Can be substituted with honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk Use almond, soy, or coconut milk for dairy-free.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with coconut oil or vegan butter.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • to taste Cinnamon or nutmeg for sprinkling Optional for added flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Slice the bananas into even rounds and layer them evenly in the bottom of the greased baking dish.

Batter Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to avoid clumping.
  • Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

Assembly & Baking

  • Pour the batter gently over the sliced bananas, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over the top if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Serving

  • Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving warm.
  • Serve alone, or top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best results; can mix in other fruits for different flavors. Store leftovers properly for freshness.
