Equipment

  • Large Pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts boneless, skinless
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water for slurry
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • green onions sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the glaze.
  • Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (165°F).
  • Pour the soy glaze over the chicken. Simmer for 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  • Mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Add to the pan and stir until sauce thickens (2–3 minutes).
  • Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with rice or vegetables.

Notes

For more flavor, marinate the chicken in the soy glaze for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Add chili flakes for spice or orange zest for a citrus twist.
