Preparation

  • Gather your tools: Get a large skillet or wok, a cutting board, and a sharp knife.
  • Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain, peel and devein the shrimp, and chop all the vegetables.
  • Keep all your ingredients within reach.

Marinating

  • In a bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
  • Add the sliced flank steak and shrimp, ensuring they're fully coated. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Cooking

  • In a hot skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
  • Sear the flank steak on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until browned, then remove and let it rest.
  • In the same skillet, add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink.
  • Transfer the shrimp to the plate with the steak.
  • Add garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring until fragrant.
  • Toss in bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot, stir-frying for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

Final Assembly

  • Return steak and shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, and mix well.
  • Plate and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For added crunch, consider tossing in cashews or sliced almonds. Adjust seasoning and marination time for best results.
