Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour Essential for the dough; ensures a fluffy texture.
  • ¼ cup almond milk Provides moisture while keeping it dairy-free.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adds a touch of sweetness to the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast A key component for fluffiness.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness and enhances flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Helps to keep the dumplings moist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Measure each one carefully for the best results.
  • In a bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, sugar, and salt. Mix them well with a whisk.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the almond milk. Stir in the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Pour the yeast mixture and vegetable oil into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until they form a dough.
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a cloth. Allow it to rise for 1 hour in a warm place.

Cooking

  • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into balls.
  • Bring water to a boil in a steamer. Once the water is bubbling, place the shaped dumplings inside, ensuring they are not touching.
  • Steam the dumplings for about 15-20 minutes until fluffy and firm to the touch.
  • Carefully remove the dumplings from the steamer. Serve them warm.

Notes
