Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients.
  • Dice the apples and chop the dates into small pieces.
  • Pre-measure all other ingredients for a smoother baking process.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and stir until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped dates into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top.

Notes
