Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Slice the French baguette into ½-inch thick pieces and set aside.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the sliced baguette pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet, ensuring they don’t overlap. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
  • Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crisp, keeping an eye on it to avoid burning.

Assembly

  • In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt, a crack of black pepper, and honey if using until smooth and creamy.
  • Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces and set aside.
  • Once the baguette slices are done baking and have cooled slightly, generously spread the ricotta mixture on each slice.
  • Spoon chopped strawberries on top of each slice.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze over the topped bruschetta.
  • Garnish with finely sliced fresh basil leaves.

Serving

  • Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crispy.

Notes

For a vegan version, use plant-based ricotta. For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free bread or serve on cucumber slices.
