Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries washed and dried
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for simple syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar for coating

Instructions
 

  • Combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves to make simple syrup. Remove from heat.
  • Add cranberries to the syrup and stir until evenly coated.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer cranberries to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let sit for 30–40 minutes until slightly tacky.
  • Roll cranberries in the remaining 1 cup sugar until fully coated. Place back on baking sheet to dry for another 15–20 minutes.
  • Serve as garnish, decoration, or enjoy as a sweet-tart holiday snack.

Notes

Sugared cranberries can be stored uncovered at room temperature for up to 2 days. If refrigerated, the sugar coating may dissolve over time.
