  • 2 slices bread (your choice) Firm bread is recommended to hold toppings.

  • 1 tbsp olive oil For sautéing mushrooms.
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional) Use herbs like parsley or thyme for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients, slice mushrooms, and shred Swiss cheese if needed.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.
  • Add sliced mushrooms with a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Toast bread slices in a toaster or skillet until crispy.

Assembly

  • Layer sautéed mushrooms on top of the toasted bread slices.
  • Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese over the mushrooms.
  • Place under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding garlic while sautéing the mushrooms. Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days, reheating in the oven for best results.
