Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 6 fresh apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 14 oz soft caramel candies e.g. Kraft or Werther’s
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 6 wooden sticks popsicle or lollipop style

Toppings & Decorations

  • edible tombstone decorations candy tombstones or chocolate molds
  • crushed chocolate cookies to mimic dirt
  • black or purple candy melts for drizzling
  • candy eyes or Halloween sprinkles
  • optional toppings chopped nuts, mini M&Ms, shredded coconut

Instructions
 

  • Wash apples thoroughly in hot water to remove wax. Dry completely and insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
  • Unwrap caramel candies and melt with cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth (5–7 minutes). Let cool slightly.
  • Dip each apple into melted caramel, rotating to coat. Let excess drip off and roll bottoms in crushed cookies or nuts, if desired.
  • Decorate apples with tombstone candies, drizzle candy melts, and add sprinkles or candy eyes.
  • Place apples on parchment and let set at room temperature for 30–45 minutes, or refrigerate for 15 minutes if needed.

Notes

For variation, try dipping apples in chocolate after caramel or adding a peanut butter filling inside. Chill apples before dipping to help caramel stick better.
