  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup for vegans.
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard Use gluten-free version if needed.
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar Can be replaced with pineapple juice for a tropical twist.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adjust to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the counter.
  • In a medium saucepan, add the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and black pepper.

Cooking

  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  • Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan and brush it generously with the glaze.
  • Bake the ham, basting with the glaze every 20 minutes, for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Let the ham rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice the ham and serve it warm.

Notes

Store leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
