Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients and measure them out.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Making the Brownies

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter until fully liquid.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar, then add the eggs one at a time followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually fold the dry mixture into the butter-sugar mixture until fully combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, checking with a toothpick for moist crumbs.

Finishing Touches

  • Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  • Once completely cooled, slice into squares and serve.
