  • 10 oz mini marshmallows Use vegan marshmallows for a vegan recipe.
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal Make sure to use gluten-free Rice Krispies if needed.
  • 1 cup candy melts Recommended colors: red, pink, or white.
  • Sprinkles Optional, for decoration.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients and grease a 9x13 inch pan.

Cooking

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat until completely melted.
  • Add mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth (3-5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and gently fold in Rice Krispies until well coated.
  • Transfer the mixture into the greased pan and press down firmly.
  • Melt the candy melts according to package instructions in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Drizzle the melted candy over the Rice Krispie treats and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle with your chosen decorations while the candy is warm.
  • Allow to cool for 30-45 minutes before cutting into pieces.
  • Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For best results, allow treats to cool at room temperature and avoid refrigeration. They can be stored in an airtight container for about a week.
